“Australis” Acrylic painting with mixed techniques 1.00 x 1.00 mt.

Javiera Valdebenito is a Chilean painter whose work speaks in the quiet language of color, light, and emotion. Her canvases capture the delicate balance between inner landscapes and the vastness of the natural world, places where memory and imagination meet.

Born in Concepción, Chile, Valdebenito graduated from the University of Concepción with a degree in Visual Arts in 2005. Her artistic journey began in her hometown, where she exhibited in galleries and cultural centers, while also dedicating herself to teaching. In her classroom and her first art studio, a space filled with brushes, music, and conversation, she discovered that creation is not just an act, but a shared experience.

In 2008, a journey to Florence, Italy, marked a turning point in her career. Studying at the Accademia d’Arte ADA, she immersed herself in both classical and contemporary techniques, absorbing the rhythm and spirit of a city steeped in art. This encounter expanded her palette, not only in color but also in perspective, blending tradition with her evolving sense of abstraction and expression.

Today, from her studio in Santiago, Valdebenito continues to explore the poetic tension between landscape and emotion. Her recent body of work, “Abstract Horizons,” is a meditation on light, distance, and the quiet transitions between what we see and what we feel. Through soft layers and bold gestures, she invites viewers to enter spaces that feel at once familiar and infinite.

Her paintings have traveled far, from exhibitions across Chile to international art fairs in Paris, Valparaíso, and Miami, where her work resonates with audiences drawn to its sense of calm, movement, and reflection. Each piece tells a story of journey and belonging, of horizons that shift but never disappear.

Valdebenito’s art continues to grow from a deep curiosity about life’s emotional landscapes. Through her work, she reminds us that painting, like living, is a constant act of discovery, a way to find beauty in transition and peace in the unknown.
