OUTER ORBIT/OUT OF ORBIT

2022, Oil and Gold paint on panel 50 cm round.

Lydia Rubio at  Lichtundfire Gallery New York

The James Webb tondos are three pieces selected from an ongoing series, Notes of the Sky. They suggest telescopic views of universes beyond us, inspired by recent scientific discoveries. These paintings suggest human attempt to measure the immeasurable with geometric lines and planes crossing the space of the painting. The overlapping spirals represent an essential form of growth.  Gestures and lines, hot and cold abstractions are mixed in a calming silent space, very much needed in today’s world.
