COLOMBIAN ARTIST FERNANDO BOTERO DIES AT THE AGE OF 91

The artist, born in 1932 in the Central Colombian city of Medellin, was still painting in his studio until he contracted pneumonia and was admitted to hospital, but was released from the hospital on Thursday to recover at home, W Radio reported.
His signature style, also known as “Boterismo”, depicts people and figures in large, exaggerated volume, which can represent political criticism or humor, depending on the piece. He is considered the most recognized and quoted living artist from Latin America and his art can be found in highly visible places around the world.
